Hinged Fiberglass Cowl--Maybe not the Best Idea

Well my record of flying 1 hour for every 5 hours of maintenance continues...

I had just put the side panel and two cowl halves back on after replacing a bad P-lead. I struggled a little with the forward dzus fastener but it secured (maybe too) well. In flight, the fastener eventually tunneled through. When I pulled for a Humpty, the speed and stress lifted the corner and the rest is history. The tear began at a previous repair. You can see the front half of the torn section resting on the 3rd flying wire (retrieved on landing). The other half is resting in a sod farm. Fortunately not a scratch otherwise.
