I'm looking at buying a used Skybolt and I keep hearing the same good advice. "Make sure it isn't over weight" So here's the question(s)...

What impact does extra weight have?(I know some are obvious)

Other than a boat load of old avionics and excess paint, what causes a plane to be too heavy?

Finally, how much is too much for a 200HP with CS prop?

This is my first post, you guys have a great forum.
