All, somehow after measuring, eyeballing, measuring 18x again, jigging, etc, I have arrived at a dilemma regarding my elevator balance horn. The narrowest gap (at the tip) is 1/8”. I assume that once the stab and elevator are wrapped in fabric and tape, plus paint, this gap might be too close for clearance. I have brainstormed ways to just shrink the large tube of the horn with a torch, or cut thru the tube and like a pizza slice and rejoin the cut tube, thus spreading the gap. Or just grinding down the washers plugging the LE tube holes. Suggestions?
