I was doing some reading on the net and came accros an interesting item. It seems that an engine shop has taken an angle valve Lycoming and "converted it" to Parallel valve jugs and then put all thier associated goodies into the jugs to make great power. This seems to be an interesting idea. Does anyone know how difficult this is and what all the benefits/drawbacks are?
I wouldl imagine the first benefit would be the stout bottom end of the angle valve block and crank. Then the reduced weight of the cylinders from the parallel valve motor. Leaving what I would think would be a nice compromise of power to weight.
Looking forward to your reply,
Barney
