I strut channel bracket placement

anxious abt drilling spar
It appears that when modifying orig I strut mount( attach point), by elimiating the vert 1/4bolt hole thru spar. the new channel bracket is secured by the OB alum plate horiz bolts..??
which moves the I strut outboard a gd amt??
referring to photos fr Contruction manual ,SecG.C2

Has anyone run into problems fr this mod??
rigging etc??
