I want to cut an inspection hole in a wing panel. I do not have an inspection ring at the place I want to put one. I have Superflight 6, 2.6oz fabric, with PPG paint.

My question is... Could I cut an inspection sized hole and then just recover it with color matched vinyl?

I know the traditional method would require removing the paint by sanding or one guy suggested prying the paint off. Then gluing a ring and patch then lots of primer and paint to make it look better.

I keep hearing about vinyl wraps and I have used them before on my LSA plane.

This seems like maybe an easier fix than sanding, covering, priming, painting...etc.
