    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

I know I am a long way from purchase of radio's
But I have been looking at the small 2 1/4" units.
The problem I see is, I only have 7 1/2 inches depth for installation.

A quick search shows me that the Becker is too long at slightly over 8" and the Flightline could be ok at 6 1/4"

What I would like to do is cut the holes for 2 1/4" round radio and transponder, that way I can finish and paint the instrument panel.
The intercom will probably be set in the lower center compartment.

Anyone had experience with installing these 2 1/4inchers in tight areas?
And if so, which one was used?
Cheers.
A picture to show where I am considering placing them.
