Intercom for open cockpit (high-noise environment)

I've been planning on using the built-in intercom in the Trig TY91 radio. But it occurs to me that it may or may not be well suited for high-noise environments.
What do most folks use for intercoms in open-cockpit biplanes? Is the Trig intercom going to work OK?
