I have a narrow deck 360 with just under 1000hrs TT. One cylinder exhaust gasket just started to leak. I was able to tighten it up a small amount - still leaked so I replaced the gasket. Stopped leaking for a couple of flights, but then a trace of leak again. Retightened the studd, barely had and nut movement and also sprayed white paint to see where it was leaking from. Next flt, leaked from the same place the old gasket leaked from between the gasket and the pipe. I am thinking that the pipe might be out a bit. A mechanic thinks its a bad cylinder. I don't have opportunity to check it out further, but how likely might it be the pipe and not a bad cylinder? Are these gaskets prone to leak after so long? I don't think that there has been regular "tightening" checks going on a regular basis.
