All it takes is money....and you know me.
Last ween I called Saber about maybe making flange re-enforce plates for the O290G crank flange. I also asked about steel crush plates to help with my aft CG problem. He quickly mentioned what several others had done which was to install one of his propeller extensions. This would do both, pretty much absolutely stiffen the crank flange and add weight. My guess is that a 2" extension would add about 20#. Only problem for me is cost. He does make a 1" thick, 7" dia. crush plate @ $175 which weighs about 10#.
All the above would be necessary for me to use a wood prop. I got another Sen. 74DM which will still work for the single place configuration. When I finish and mount the engine, prop. etc I'll do a new W&B and run the numbers to see what my options are...?????
