    Why become a Subscribing Member?

    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

My son and I (both engineers) were talking about getting a few more H/P out of a Lycoming powerplant and we happened upon the idea of using a Mercedes 'Kompressor' that is used in the C-230. My C-230 ate its Kompressor (a Mercedes trade name) and I have the casing for mounting design and prototyping .

Soo, what is my question???

How much leaway do we have, as 'Experimental' builders, in modifying firewall forward to this extent?
