What length of run ways do you all operate out of? There are a few private air strips (hangar homes) around with 1800 ft strips. My instructor says 2500 ft is minimum, however I was reading that the min landing distance according to the charts is a bit over 1000 ft.

I am guessing that I would need to practice short field landings with only 1800 ft but is that dangerous to fly out of on a regular basis?
