I am based out of Barton EGCB in the UK which is grass, 650m long. and currently getting bumpy as autumn is taking its toll.

I find the Eagle takes the bumps nicely but the RV has a really springy undercarriage (mine has no stiffeners in) and the bumps spring the plane back into the air. So I started landing the RV 3 point and when it touches down pushing forward on the stick to pull up the tailwheel and keep the main wheels stuck to the ground. Seems to work a treat and I don't need the extra speed of a wheeler landing because it's easy to run out of runway when adding 10 kn on with no headwind.

Is this a common type of landing technique? I don't need to do this in the eagle but it makes the landings cleaner in the RV.
