Lubricating gap seals ?

The gap seals on my S1 stabilizer are rubbing against the elevator, making an annoying squeeking noise and rubbing off the paint and silver, i dont want it to further damage the fabric, my A&P told me to use Dow corning 4 electrical insulation to lubricate it. Any better solution or other lubricant i can use for this purpose?
