Hey guys. My CHT (and sometimes EGT) readings are all over the place. Same with oil pressure. My CHTs are wildly inaccurate and sometimes fluctuate anywhere from 40 degrees up to 350 degrees. EGT's also vary from about 50 degrees up to about 1100 degrees. Oil pressures most of the time are normal (about 80psi), but sometimes go up to 120psi. Sometimes it does it only for a few minutes and goes back to normal, sometimes almost the entire flight. I called MGL and they said that sometimes interference from the ignition wires can cause wrong/ erratic readings. They said to make sure my thermocouple wires are not bundled together with the ignition wires. I made sure of this and separated them as far as I could, but it doesn't seem to help. What else can be causing this? Bad probes?? My oil pressure sending unit is good. I think it might a problem with bad grounding in the case of the oil pressure, bc when I removed the ground wire and cleaned up where it was grounded to, it seemed to work normally for a few flights and then again, became erratic/ showing pressures that are unreasonably high. Any ideas?? I have the MGL Blaze EMS-2 and RADAC.
