After listening to the talking heads this morning, some of whom even made some sense, I fear far ranging issues from the Alps crash.
1. Citing the current requirements in some states that medical conditions be reported to transportation authorities we may see similar things required to be reported to the FAA(or ALL state authorities too). For ANYONE if they have license or not. Like:
a. Any prescription for psychoactive(maybe other) drugs.
b. while they are at it, any other condition that may be important to being able to operate an aircraft.....
2. And/or screening for use of psychoactive, narcotic, cardiac etc. drugs as part of physical
3. Maybe even take another look at the LSA medical standards. OTOH if they make it impossible to get a state drivers license for above, that would take care of LSA....
4. The lifting of the 2rd class medical may now be DOA?
and the list may go on?
In effect, all people who take certain drugs may be put on a "Do not apply list" for pilot(or any other license)
