Hey everyone just thought I would update on what I am doing with Glen Merrits Acro. i bought it last spring and later found 3 cracked cylinders. So decided here over the winter to rebuild the engine which Lawson Aviation in Gobles MI is doing. Will be an O320 E2C with the stc for 160 hp. Also decided to rebuild the instrument panels and complete rewiring. Thanks to my bud Bob Lussow that am almost done with that. I should get the engine back on 25 April so looking forward to getting it hung and hooking everything back up. Cameron Grossel has been gracious to offer the test flight as well as guiding me through the re rigging of the airplane. So far here is a list of everything replaced:
Rebuilt bendix mags
Mechanical fuel pump
All new wiring
New instrument panels front and back
New master solenoid
New MA4 carb
Used metal prop 74-56 Sensnich
New starter solenoid
New alternator and reg
Repainting the cockpit covers
And a bunch of other stuff.
Am looking forward to getting it flying by mid summer at the latest.
