I see in the Charger plans that the wing rib gusset plates are to be glued and nailed. However, it specifies Weldwood plastic resin, while I expect any modern builder would use T-88.

I haven't seen users of T-88 typically using nails, just clamping or weighting the joints instead. The lack of nails seems like a good place to save weight, but is against the plans.

I realize nails vs clamps vs weights can be a religious issue, but is this type of deviation from plans (where materials have advanced) generally frowned upon or embraced?
