I noticed a discussion about what shoes to wear in a discussion about fitting into the narrow S-2A fuselage. A pilot I met about a year ago suggested using wrestling shoes. They are for the most part the same as racing shoes, but at a fraction of the cost. Depending on what you get (there are dozens of types) they are extremely narrow and have a very thin sole. Almost a heavy, lace-up sock with tread on the bottom. Since I've started wearing them it's made quite a difference, even with my relatively spacious Skybolt.
