So flying around today I reached for the elevator trim and it didn't work. Fearing flutter, I slowed down and headed back to the airport. There was no real issue and I landed fine…..

Inspection showed that the solid wire running from the trim handle to the trim tab broke about 1 foot from the trim tab.

My control system is solid tubing till about 2 feet from the tail when it changes to a flexible outer housing with a solid wire cable running through it.

So I pulled out my caliper and it measured as 5/64…. Ah, but I can't find 5/64 cable listed at aircraft spruce…. I *think* BOWDEN CABLE INNER WIRE with a 0.78" diameter is the ticket. But I want to make sure before I order it and end up with the wrong thing and miss a weekends flying.

I did a search and it seems that I am correct… But looking for a little adult supervision.

And any tips on installing it?
