The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web.

    Why become a Subscribing Member?

    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Saw this post on the Acro exploder... made by Bill Finagin. I'm sure he wouldn't mind me reposting...

" At Oshkosh's EAA Airventure the Aviat Aircraft Factory will "test the waters" for restarting the manufacturing of the famous Pitts S1S single place aircraft.

This will be a certified Pitts single place aircraft with a Lycoming Fuel-Injected IO-360-B4A engine and a Fixed Pitch Propeller. Rated HP will be 180 HP@2700 RPM.

Deposits of certified checks or wire transfers will be accepted for the first five aircraft at a substantial discounted price of $138,000. The next 5 aircraft will be offered at $143,000 with the list price after that being $148,000 dollars. Delivery will begin in early 2013.

If you are interested do stop by the Aviat Booth at Airventure and see Bill Finagin, the national Pitts dealer. This is a deal that is, perhaps, a once in a lifetime offer."
