New comm/TXP for S2A

I need to update the present radio in my S2A, as the factory original King Nav-Comm. is TU. I would appreciate forum input on a simple comm. that has intercom capability for high-noise environment. (No need for Nav). I also want to install a transponder, which I do not have.
As the present radio is mounted on the front seatback, I would like to use the same location for the new comm-transponder unit. You may be able to appreciate the radio mount ahead of the headsets in the attached images
