Hello forum!
I have spent the last 40 years of my life flying everything from Cubs to 767's to helicopters (I'm ex AA pilot) but one thing has been missing: I've never flown aerobatics. So last week I decide to go to my local airport where a well known aerobatics school was and began my sojourn into this mysterious new world. I am flying (with a qualified instructor of course) a S2B Pitts and am enjoying this immensely with one caveat: I am getting sicker than a dog 30 minutes in! I have never had ANY propensity towards airsickness or seasickness (I have sailed many years) but this catches me by surprise. The rolling maneuvers don't seem to give me problems but the 4 g pull up into a loop just gives my stomach the absolute fits. I haven't thrown up but I find myself enjoying the lesson less and less after about 6 -8 loops. What can I do to help this? I don't want to quit (*I WONT quit) but I don't want to constantly feel like crap while I am learning this really fun form of flying. Any suggestions? BTW I am planning on buying a Pitts and competing at the Sportsman level if I can get through this damn nausea problem.
