Hello, everyone!
I signed up mostly because I am on the verge of selecting a building project, but also because I am very impressed with what I discovered here. The knowledge and sharing seems to be unmatched and the respect shown to all is no small feat these days. You all deserve congratulations.
Being a low time private pilot, and gaining that license late in life (at 44), I'm not sure if I can "carry my weight" here, but I'll at least try not to get in everyone's way!
I'm trying to get down to business now and started the garage clean-out turn it into a serious workshop project this week. I'm looking for a design that can be built in a one-car garage (10'x24'), is relatively simple to construct (I would like a good chance at completing it), is strong enough for moderate acro, and low in cost. 2 seats would be a plus, but I think it would add too much expense (big engines=big dollars).
I've been looking at Flitzers, the Acrolite, and maybe, just maybe, a Pitts with whatever motor I can find when the time comes.
I can already weld passably (need practice!) and build engines, machine simple parts, etc...just need to up my game for the aero world.
I could go on, but I'll leave it at the intro for now.
Thanks in advance,
Charlie
