Hello biplane forum!
I recently purchased a skybolt project and am beyond excited to make my biplane dreams come true. First, I have questions about storage.
I am working out of a t hangar and the walls aren’t long enough to accommodate the top wing, could I hang the top wing vertically, leading edge down, from the front spar? I haven’t seen anyone else do it that way and am curious if there is a reason for that.
Second, the wings were assembled in the mid 70s, some of the routed ribs have warped and need replacing. Is there any documentation I can review other than AC 43 about checking the condition of the spars and such? I live in central California if anyone can recommend a good inspector familiar with wooden construction.
Thank you for reading! I look forward to making many many more posts here!
