Hello everyone,
I have been an observer on the forum for quite some time so now I think it is time to introduce myself. I live in Atherton, Queensland, Australia and I purchased a partly finished Skybolt in September 2014. I already had the plans and was intending to start from scratch but located a fuselage and partially completed wing kit here in Australia. I am a high school teacher of Maths and Aerospace Studies. Progress on the build has been slow but steady. Photos show where I am up to at the moment about to finish the top wing. This forum has been an awesome resource of really useful information and I thank the contributors wholeheartedly! There was a Skybolt based at my airfield for a while so I was lucky enough to do a small amount of flying in it and take heaps of photos of how it was completed.
I was uploading my progress to mykitlog but something changed on my PC and I haven't been able to update my progress for quite some time. My site is still available at www.mykitlog.com/jc4487.
My very supportive wife and I are going to be in the USA for about 6 weeks (late June and July) this year for an aviation tour and we are hoping to catch up with some Skybolt builders in our travels. We will be able to spend 2 days at Oshkosh (been on my bucket list for ever!). I would love to hear from anyone interested in showing us their Skybolt! Our basic itinerary is LA, Sacramento, Seattle, New York, Washington DC, Virginia Beach, Orlando, Oshkosh. I can provide specific dates if anyone is in these locations. Looking forward to hearing from people!
Many thanks
Jon
