Happy Valentine's Day everyone
I have a 140hp Great Lakes with no inverted system of any kind (O-320). The plan is to compete in primary this spring. Just completed a course with Chandler Air. Unfortunately, their Lakes have inverted systems.
So, yesterday I did some flying in my own airplane and KILLED THE ENGINE 3 TIMES. Once in a push to check belts, once in an aileron roll and once on top of the loop. It seems that it quits instantly at 0g.
This year's sequence has a half cuban and two slow rolls. All three require not only 0g, but some negative. My Great Lakes is supposed to be the basis for the primary and even sportsman, so don't tell me to get a more capable aircraft. I love Peaches and I'm not leaving her...
So what gives? Do I just ignore the engine quitting? Has anyone ever had problems with it coming back to life?
Thanks
Paul
