This is a little roadster that my brother built from scratch. It took 2-1/2 years and about 2,500 hours between he and our dad. The rear end is from a 1964 Triumph TR4. The engine is a Buick 215CID aluminum block V8 driving a 5-speed tranny. The steel chassis and the body work (.050" aluminum) is all hand-built. Dad hammered out the radiator shell from .050" steel sheet, and all plated parts were done in nickel, as chrome was not being used at the time of the vintage appearance of the car. The hand brake is external and is from a Model-A Ford, as are most of the lights and the steering wheel. The car weighs 1,600 lbs empty, about the same as my airplane. Dad even made the little ignition switch and the door latch. The car was completed in the spring of 2005, and is called a "Victor Rapide". Greg even made the little emblem on the top of the radiator grill. It's lots of fun to be near the car at a show and listen to the comments people make. One guy said to a friend, "Bob, this is a Victor Rapide! I haven't seen one of these in years!"
