Hey guys. I have been monitoring the site for quite a while now, but finally purchased my own S1S! It is ready to go minus an engine overhaul. My main question is about the crank. It is an O-360 A4A, so it has the solid crank, but it has lightening holes in the flange. It is already yellow tagged and ready to go, so it is very tempting to put back in. I know that there is an AD out for this and it is less than ideal for acro (I plan to compete with this airplane). So the main question is how much of liability this would actually be with a composite prop on it. Is it something that will just be inconvenient because of the 25 hour inspections, or would it be stupid to put the engine back together with this crank? Thanks in advance for the advice!
