My new AEIO-540 engine has an oil screen. This can be converted easy enough (have the Lycoming oil filter adapter in hand) over to a filter.

What are the pros/cons of a screen vs the filter related to biplane aerobatic aircraft.

My default is I want to convert the engine to use a filter, but want to understand if the screen may be more desirable (i.e. weight).
