I just bought a Skybolt this week. The airplane is nice but like most fabric planes it has a few spots that need touching up. It is covered with Stits and I have a can of the leftover origional Randolph dope. I was told this stuff does not brush on good for touch up. On my last fabric plane I did a little research and found Exterior latex house paint. I took a panel to Sherwin Williams and got a quart mixed up. It matched perfect for touch up and stuck to the fabric excellent, and its flexable. Has anyone else done this? I was going to make a trip to the paint store and my mechanic over here told me I was crazy. The plane just got here and I cant wait to fly it! Its a 265HP 540 with a canopy. I just need a little training before I climb in it myself. Trying to make it look pretty now.
