    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

Happy New Year All,
I'm planning to put the pitot tube on my upper wing to get it out of harms way then run down through the I-strut with a 1/4" 4130 tube. Has anyone else used a setup lke this? The tubing will have to pierce the fabric on both the upper and lower wings. What kind of reinforcement is used for the fabric in these locations? What tubing and fittings are normally used to get back to the A/S indicator? Did you just put a hole in the leading edge for the pitot tube or install a larger plate to allow later access? Thanks for any ideas or pictures.
Ed
