Hey there. I’m getting ready to install my pitot static system/tube (Steen). I’ve been debating plumbing. I was all set to order a kit such as this one from Steinair.

After seeing some of the pro’s like @smizo use aluminum tubing I’m starting to reconsider.......

The Pitts plans originally call for 5052 aluminum tubing. I’ve read a couple articles by Steinair. They obviously favour nylon tubing. With a nylon set up I could have it installed fairly quick and call it a day. With aluminum tubing, I need to learn some new skills, which I’ll need to know down the road anyways. I’ll also need to find/buy a 37 degree flaring tool, bender, cutter etc.

I’d love to hear some pro’s and con’s? Personal experience/preferences?

Also, if I’ve used a picture without someone’s permission I’ll gladly remove it.

Thanks
Joe
