The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web.

    Why become a Subscribing Member?

    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

What: Pitts 70th Fly-In / South Island Akrofest.
Where: Omaka Aerodrome, NZ.
When: 13th-15th Nov 2015.

The Marlborough Aeroclub is hosting us for a couple of evening meals, we are running a brief competition in the morning (two classes), then doing a slightly more modified 4min freestyle section (more details to follow).
The NZ Aerobatic Club is organizing the event, with the Marlborough Aeroclub hosting us. The Aviation Heritage Centre is also supporting the event.
On our own smaller (read: Much smaller!) scale, it should be quite a memorable weekend. There are approximately 18 actively flying Pitts Specials in NZ, with 6 confirmed for the event and a further 5-6 hopefuls. Along with other entrants from within the club, and visitors from all across the country.

Omaka is a major hub for aeroclub flying, microlights and homebuilts, also home to several very prominant warbird collections.

Will keep all in the loop with developments in due course.

regards,
Andy
