Question for the S-2 gang: anybody have experience with flying single open cockpit vs. a 2-place (full cover) canopy? I'm about to purchase an S-2B currently with the front cockpit closed over (no windscreen) and open rear cockpit (windscreen). Current owner says he flies 100-105 MPH on final. I trained in an S-2B with full 2-place canopy and I recall flying more like 85-90 MPH on final. Does the full canopy change the stall characteristics or low-speed handling of the plane? I'm thinking perhaps the full 2-place canopy actually creates a significant amount of lift to allow slower speed on final.

Thanks,
Paul Klusman
