    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

Working with Eric Mingledorff on the gear for his early Pitts S1C and I found my old drawings marked as drawn by C. H. Pitts 4-28-61.

If you are thinking that the early drawing looks like a modern drawing it is because the plans were redrawn in Auto Cad as a class project about 20 years ago. This is from sheet 12 which is evidently the only sheet I got back.

The early gear is drawn with 1 .248 deg of positive camber (incorrectly termed Toe-in) This has been removed in the drawings for the certified airplane plans dated 1970. Also the later gear is 3" wider overall than the early gear.

Just passing this along as a matter of interest.
