I’m thinking of using aTitan IO 340 and a fixed composite prop in my Pitts project. These engines are about 20# lighter than a IO 370 according to JB at Titan Continental. Question for the group, would the 340 and a light prop work without adding weight to the nose? I want a light Pitts and if I have to add nose weight to a light 340 to balance, I might as well use a 370 a put the weight to work. The Aviat plans put the battery behind the seat. I will be using a lightweight battery and have room for it on the firewall for CG if necessary.
Thanks for any comments,
Bill
