Hi there,
I think that Pitts S2A have been fitted with two different types of ailerons depending on serial number.
Mine is S/N 2149 built in 1977. She has "flat ailerons" wich I think means that her ailerons have a flat intrados and no spades.
Later S2A have S2B like ailerons with spades.
Desregarding spades, are the S2B like ailerons give any advantage compared with the "flat" ones ? The answer is probably yes otherwise they wouldn't have done such a modification.
And is a retrofit available ?
