Many years ago I worked for the western Australian Agricultural Dept in the experimental work shops building experimental farm equipment. We used to use acrylic plastic to make the machines weather tight .The first time I drilled a hole to put a bolt in the old fella who was the foreman pulled me up and showed me a trick that stops the plastic from splitting.. He lit the oxy and with a small flame applied it to the hole barely touching it at all ,the heat applied was just enough to melt the sharp edge of the hole .It produced a rounded edge and also got rid of the drill marks in the hole. The same can be done on a cut edge.It take a bit of practice but it works well .Just thought I would put it out there, but practice first . Cheers Ross
