    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

G’day all, I have a Pitts S1S which had a 76” MT prop that’s now buggered. I’m looking to replace with a Whirlwind and one of the options available was an 80” prop which is obviously a lot bigger. I mostly operate out of a very well kept sealed strip but will occasionally visit grass runways. How much clearance do you guys recommend to avoid the risk of prop strikes/excessive wear from the tips of the prop being too close to the ground and picking up loose stones etc?
