I have a Flight line 760,(FL-760) installed in my Skybolt. It has the intercomm built in. When solo, I can talk and hear myself fine with ATC. Once I throw a passenger up front, both mikes are activated when anyone keys the intercom and the backround noise is so loud I can't hear my passenger talk and ATC complains about the backround noise as well. My fix has been to have my passenger unplug the mike jack. I have a pretty loud airplane anyway, (IO-360, 9:1 pistons, Catto 3 blade, crossover exhaust with pipes that come way out the bottom). I'm wondering if my plane is louder than most or if my intercom is just not wired properly. Adjusting the squelch doesn't seem to help. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Chris
