    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

I current have a Skybolt with 125# on the tail with a flat spring, and fly off grass as much as possible(90%). I am considering a rod spring, and have read all the threads about it on this forum. I haven't seen any heavy tail opinions, but mostly from Pitts ( about 1/2 the tail weight) So I am crying out to all the heavy tail guys:

Rod or leaf spring with 6" wheel for grass? Vote now!

thanks, larry
