Need a little help please. I have a new to me S-1S, N427RD a 1983 S-1S, (Joe Haycraft's old plane) and I have a question about the rudder pedal to brake pedal geometry. I did taxi tests today and as the ferry pilot also passed on "with full rudder in either direction you cannot get full brake" Meaning it is very hard to make the tailwheel break over without slightly centering the pedals. The brake pedals are running out of travel and hitting the firewall.
I can see through the side lexan that the brake pedal is slightly angled toward the firewall in relationship to the rudder pedal in the neutral position.
Any thoughts and or fix ideas? Should I disconnect the master cylinder rod and lengthen it, which would add brake? Thank you
