So many people have asked and I kept forgetting to actually take a photo of my jacking technique for my Pitts so here it is.

1) Common floor jack
2) 1 in steel gas pipe from Lowes
3) Remove brake caliper
4) Remove center wheel pant anchor nut bracket (only works if you mod the RV axle nut or have pass through nut without wheel pant anchor nut such as a classic castellated nut)
5) insert pipe into axle
6) Jack up the airplane
7) remove nut, tire and spacers
8) Place piece of wood under the axle between the while and brake caliber bracket
9) release Jack so that weight is on the wood
10) remove wheel, pipe, spacers for maintenance.

I will throw out there that this didn't work well when I had the blown out tire. I ended up having to lift the pipe high enough by hand yeah I was lifting the wheel of my aircraft (#youngstupidandstrong) and sliding the jack under the pipe. With the tire inflated it fits well.

Method would work on the road where there is a jack and pipe available. Give it a try let me know what cool new innovations/methods you come up with.
