Merry Christmas everyone.

I am working on the wingwalk area of the lower wings on my S-1D. I have the factory S-1S plans, a "D" supplement, and the Steen "C" plans. All of the drawings show a 11"X11.5 1/8" skin over the wingwalk area with no bracing underneath. It seems that with the 1/8 skin on top of the ribs it would show easily under the fabric.

The Steen "skeletal" pics on their site show braces underneath and as well as the skin being flush with the level of the ribs. It seems that 1/4 strips were glued inside the ribs as a holding point for the skin.

So...is it indeed best to make it flush and are the 1/4" strips adequate as a gluing surface versus the top of the 5/8" ribs?

Thanks,
