My Google-fu and the forum search function have failed me. I don't have S-1S plans. Can someone tell me the suggested up/down elevator travel? I never thought about mine until we had 5 of these things lined up and were looking at how the elevators sat. Mine looks like around 30 degrees up and 40 degrees down. Others looked about 30 degrees down.

It appears mine is excessive, which seems to contribute to poor inverted spin performance. My airplane will completely stop spinning on its own after about 1.5 turns of inverted spin with left rudder and full forward stick held. This should be abnormal. Doing the same with right rudder, and it transitions though this weird flat gyration, and never really settles down. Unloading the forward stick a couple inches after the spin breaks settles it down a bit in both directions. Adding in-spin aileron will also keep the spin from stopping, but it really speeds up the rotation rate - almost like a slow speed snap roll.

40 degrees down seems excessive. Just curious what the plans show.
