    Why become a Subscribing Member?

    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Our S-1S seems to have an unusually aft empty weight C.G. The current W&B says she weighs 836 empty and empty weight C.G. is 61.4. That seems a bit aft. We have an Odesy 580 battery behind the seat, a metal prop, and an APS tailwheel on a stinger type spring. There is nothing obvious that should make her unusually tail heavy.

What are other S-1S owners seeing for your empty weight C.G.? We will re weigh ours this week.

Thanks,

Bruce
