Was curious how this departure from the plans would contribute to structural integrity, if at all. Is it more of a redundant safety feature, or an effort to improve strength? I've included some pictures and a video below.

Built by Jerry Mills: http://www.barnstormers.com/listing_images.php?id=744856&ZOOM=c71d6682de4e1c96c2e2de3f6b73f8a1

Same plane shown in the link above, the third flying wire is clearly visible in the first few seconds of this video: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtC31k574uM[/ame]

Another mention of the "third flying wire": http://www.trade-a-plane.com/listing?id=1513105

It may also be worth mentioning that both of these planes are from the same general area, Tennessee/Alabama, so perhaps it's a builders trend. If anyone could offer some insight on this "third flying wire", or the builder Jerry Mills, it would be much appreciated.
