I'm looking at a Pitts S1-C in the local area that may be for sale with an 0-360 and metal prop. This particular airplane doesn't have a trim tab on the elevator.

I did a search on the forums and it appears that at least a few S1-C's were built without pitch trim.

How common is this and it will be an issue/annoyance in flight?

The airplane has a Pitts factory (Afton) S fuselage, side panels, cowl and turtle deck. The builder mentioned that the elevators and rudder have "the C type hinges."

Finding a used stock elevator with a trim tab from someone that's converted to another empennage type sounds simple at first blush.

Will S1-S elevator parts fit and will installing a trim system on a built airplane be a straightforward job?
