I am building a new lower left wing and was going to reuse the hardware out of the old wing. After removing the fabric from the old wing, I discover that the bell crank system is not like the plans (I have the Steen 'C' plans). Instead of an idler in the second bay and a bell crank in the fifth bay, this has only a bell crank in the third bay and the pushrod is on an angle instead of parallel to the spar. This ship had flown for a long time like this. Should I rebuild according to plans or go back like this?
